Question to you regarding Fountain Grass . . .

I am in LOVE with Purple Fountain Grass. Could I use it in my new planters that I just installed next to my pool (about 4 inches from the water), or will they drop too much litter/seeds?

Is there any other Fountain Grass that would be more "litter" friendly?

Thanks so much,

je

Fountain grass is generally considered litter-free. If you're concerned about seeds dropping, they usually fall straight down - unless there's a strong wind. To completely control the problem of seeds in the pool, you can simply cut down the seedheads 2-3 weeks after they appear (and before the seeds mature and are released by the plant). I can't think of a nicer grass to plant next to a pool. Enjoy!
