| Your plant may not bloom this year; spring blooming clematis flower on wood produced the previous year.If the foliage was killed, there may be damage to the flower buds and the woody part of the plant as well. At this point, I'd wait to see where the new foliage emerges and then cut away any dead wood. This will encourage the growth of new flowering stems this spring.
