I live in zone 8 which can have intense summer heat, will this tree hold up thru our summers. What can I do to help it? I'm thinking of using it to be a focal point in my front yard. Our new home faces north. Thanks.

Weeping cherry is marginal in your zone 8 gardening region because of your summer heat. If you're looking for an attractive flowering tree for a focal point in your yard, Cercidium (Palo Verde), Grevillea (silk oak), or Koelreuteria (goldenrain tree) might be better choices.

Best wishes with your landscape!
