I was told not to use any fertilizer on our Greveillia Noelli that contains phosphorus. Is this so in your opinion and if so, what should we use? Some have recommended blood meal. Thank you for your help. |
The information you received is correct. Grevillea are members of the protea family and all members of this family are sensititve to high levels of phosphorus in the soil. It's best to fertilize lightly, and to use a fertilizer low in phosphorus. You can use a general purpose garden fertilizer such as a 10-0-10 ratio of NPK, or you can use an organic fertilizer such as blood meal or bat guano(which is about a 13-0-0 ratio of NPK). Hope this clarifies things for you! |
