The Q&A Archives: Planting Holly Bushes For Berries

Question: How close do I need to plant a "boy" holly bush to a "girl" in order to get berries?

Answer: The plants can be quite far away, as long as they're in sight of one another (makes it easier for the pollinating insects to visit both). I have hollies 150' from one another and the female reliably produces berries each year.

Best wishes with your garden!
