The Q&A Archives: Western White Pine

Question: Is there such a tree as the western white pine, and or a sugar pine?

Answer: Pinus monticola is called the western white pine. It's native to western North America and has five needles per bundle. The cones are 5-10" long, slightly curved, and covered with resin.

I'm not aware of a tree called sugar pine.
