I was researching my newly purchased Monrovia Issai kiwi and found some web sources that suggested using a male pollinator for getting more and bigger fruit. I purchased a Monrovia Tomuri for this task : )

Will I really get more/bigger fruit or is this unecessary? If it is true, did I purchase the correct male for this female?

Thanks,
Lynn

'Issai' is a self-pollinating kiwi; without a male plant nearby, the fruit will be small and without seeds. With a male kiwi nearby it will produce larger, sweeter fruit with seeds. 'Tomuri' is a male kiwi and blooms at the same time as 'Issai' so it will make a good companion.

Best wishes with your kiwis!
