There is a new variety of rhodedendron called Northern Starburst that is advertised as an improvement on PJM. Can you tell me what that improvement is and how else this variety may differ? |

As you will read, the flowers are larger on 'Northern Starburst' and of a slightly different color; the mature size of this plant is smaller than PJM. Bloom Time: Early Height (ft.) in 10 Yrs: 3 Cold Hardiness Temperature: -25?F (-32?C) Foliage Description / Plant Habit: Leaves elliptic, slightly down-curved margins, broadly acute apex, cuneate base, 2 to 2 1/2" long, dark grayish reddish-brown in late winter, retained 1-2 years.
