Can I plant a Blue Princess Holly near the foundation of my house?

It's always best to plant foundation shrubs far enough away to allow the plants to reach mature size without crowding against the house or garage. A Blue Princess Holly will eventually reach 8'-10' in height and 6'-8' in width. Since it will be quite wide at maturity, a Blue Princess should be used out in the landscape rather than as a foundation planting. If you want to grow a holly close to your foundation, choose a smaller variety such as the Dwarf Buford holly. This is a compact grower, reaching only 4'-6' tall and wide.
