Can a Blood Banana be cut back, dug up and overwintered similar to a Canna? Are there any specifics for the process?

The process for overwintering banana is similar to that of storing cannas; cut the plant to the ground and store the roots in an area above-freezing. Replant in the spring when temperatures are warm (remember - banana is a tropical plant). Aside from the above, there are no special techniques to overwintering a banana plant.

Best wishes with your tropical garden!
