My husband saw some dogwood shrubs next to a similar looking shrub that has yellow branches rather than the red of the dogwood...no leaves yet. Any ideas what kind of plant it is?

There are several commonly encountered shrubs with yellow branches; Yellow twig dogwood, Salix (willow), and Japanese Kerria, to name a few. If the shrub had a similar branching habit to the red twig dogwood, I'll bet that it's a yellow twig dogwood. Guess we'll have to wait until after they leaf out to know for sure!
