I'm in Edmonton, AB (zone 2-4) and I've just got a foxtail spruce. When would be the best time to plant it? I've got it in a container right now (not sure if it is balled inside the container or not) and the ground is just about unfrozen. Is it safe to keep it in the container for a week or two more? Or should I get it in the ground?

Any info would be great
Thanks

Sean,

Plant is as soon as the soil has thawed enough to dig up. Firm soil around the root ball and water it in well to settle any air pockets out of the soil. Wait to start fertilizing for another 6 weeks and then only do so with light applications.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
