Ivy - Knowledgebase Question

In front of one of my rental houses is a fairly steep hill. I would like to cover the hill with Ivy, but am not sure how to start, and how much ivy to buy. Is there a certain type that would spread faster than others, or is there a better ground cover to use?

Lesley,

Ivy does best in a shade to semi shade area. You can plant it about 2-4 feet apart depending on how fast you want it to fill in. If your area is sun you might consider another groundcover. The following website provides many great options and is very applicable to your part of the country:
