The Q&A Archives: Fuschia plant - shade or sun

Question: I have just purchased a fuschia plant and want to know does it require shade or sun. Also when is it best to fertilize and what kind?

Answer: Evelyn,

Fuchsias are gorgeous but they really suffer in the heat of the south. They like sun but can't take our hot southern sun. Give the a little morning sun and the rest of the day a very bright shade or dappled shade. Keep the soil moist but not soggy and this will give it the best chance of performing well for you.
