| You can compensate (to an extent) for the extreme heat by providing a healthy supply of mulch and being on top of your watering. My first recommendation would be Graham Thomas, an english rose. I have heard wonderful things about its sun/heat tolerance. It is not an uncommon rose, so you could probably find it at most local nurseries that carry roses. However, if you can't, you can obtain it from Jackson & Perkins (www.jacksonandperkins.com; ph#800-292-4769). If you want to consider some "old" roses, I spoke with a rose grower in your fair state with similar conditions who makes these recommendations: Heritage, Mutabilis, La Marne, Mrs. Oakley Fisher, Caldwell Pink, Pink Meidland, Nearly Wild, Baysey's Blueberry, Betty Prior, The Fairy.
