I am in Central/Southern Indiana, bought some Roma tomatoes plants and Rhubarb. Too early to put them in today 4/15? or should I wait till Mother's day--like they say around here? |
Tomato plants need warm soil and warm air temperatures so it's best to wait until late May to put them in the ground. You can plant earlier if you're putting them in raised beds (soil in raised beds tends to warm up faster in the spring), and if you protect the plants with cloches. If not, I'd wait until late May before planting. |
