My question is whether or not I should use a tiller to churn the soil in my backyard and use a spreader to disperse seeds or if I should just buy sod and cover the yard that way. The soil in Charleston is pretty sandy, so the second part of my question would be what kind of grass seed would do well in this area if tilling is the best option? |
Matthew, A light rototilling can help loosen the soil for seeding or to make contact with sod more effective. Just go down a couple of inches. In general sodding is more expensive but provides a faster cover and less weed problem as the grass is getting established. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
