| Hello, My wife and I are re-sodding our lawn as it has died. We are not sure if fescue sod or kentucky blue grass sod would be better. The area is high traffic and gets about 60% sunlight (from noon until sundown). We are putting down grub treatment prior to sodding as that is what killed our lawn before. What do your reccommend? We are in south jersey close to philadelphia |
| I would suggest you consult with your local county extension as to which blends and specific grass varieties seem to do best in your local area and similar situations with similar soil to yours. They can also help you with running basic soil tests to see, based on the results, if you need to amend or otherwise improve your soil prior to laying the sod. For best results you may also want to add some organic matter such as good quality compost to help improve the soil and provide a good environment for the sod roots -- if the roots do not do well then your sod will fail. They will also be able to suggest what is best to use and easily available locally for that. Good luck with your project! |
