Should Coreopsis be cut back in the fall? If so, how much?

There is one variety of Coreopsis that's an annual and will die all the way back at the end of the season.

If you have the perennial type, you can cut back anything that's dead now, and wait until the remaining leaves and stems shrivel up on their own. Or, you can cut the plant back all the way to the ground now, if it has stopped growing. In the spring new growth will come from the roots.
