The Q&A Archives: rubber plant and yucca cane

Question: can i plant both of these in the ground and they be ok all year or should i take it back out and replant every yearor would it be better to leave them in a pot

Answer: In my experience it is best to keep them in the container. It is very disruptive for them to be uprooted and repotted, they lose too many roots when you dig them up. Also, take care to keep them in a sheltered location outdoors. Do not expose them to temperatures below about 65 degrees.
