Our weather has been up and down and was wondering if I plant wave petunias now, can they withstand a couple of 30 degree nights? Thanks! |
Although petunias can withstand cooler weather if acclimated to it, in spring when they are fresh out of a greenhouse and very tender it is not a good idea to plant them too early. This can cause transplant shock in addition to frost damage. A little patience now also allows the soil time to warm up a bit which will help their roots grow better. If there is a surprise late frost you should still cover them or bring them indoors. Enjoy your Wave petunias! |
