I HAVE TWO POTTED BEGONIAS THAT I PURCHASED I'M NOT SURE WHAT KIND THEY ARE BUT THE BLOOMS ARE PINKISH WITH REDISH-PURPLE LEAVES. I REPOTTED THEM OUT OF THE POT THEY WERE PURCHASED IN AND I NOTICED THAT THE LEAVES AND THE BLOOMS WERE HARD AND FALLING OFF- DO YOU THINK I PICKED A BAD PLANT OR IS IT NORMAL AFTER BEING TRANSFERRED FROM ONE POT TO ANOTHER. THEY ARE IN HANGING BASKETS ON MY APT PATIO WHICH HAS A LOT OF LIGHT BUT ARE NOT IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT-I DON'T HAVE A CLUE OF WHAT I'M DOING WRONG. HELP!!!!!! |
Courtney, I am sorry for this delayed reply to your gardening question. We are transitioning to a new Q&A system and your question was unfortunately lost in the transition. I have discovered it now and hope this reply is not too late to be of help. Those begonias do well in a little sun to bright shade. They do however not like a sudden move from one degree of light to another and may take a while to adjust. I think with time and proper care your plants will recover and take off performing well again. Keep the soil just moist, not soggy, and allow it to dry out a bit between waterings. Fertilize with a soluble plant food at the low label rate every few weeks. Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon! |
