The Q&A Archives: Tomatos

Question: When is it safe to plant tomatoes in our area??

Answer: It varies from year to year depending on your weather. Tomatoes do not tolerate any frost, they also need a warm soil to root quickly and grow well with less transplant shock. It's best if the night temperatures are reliably about 45 or so. When you think frost is over, go ahead and plant. Then be prepared to cover them if you have yet another late frost. I hope this helps.
