The Q&A Archives: Fertilizing Pistachio Trees

Question: What fertilizers are best to apply for nut production?

Answer: There are both male and female varieties of pistachio trees and you'll need one of each for nut production. If you have both, the female will produce nuts. No special fertilizers are required, unless the leaves of the trees look off-colored or pale. If this is the case, fertilize by broadcasting a 10-10-10 beneath the canopy of the tree, in amounts as recommended on the fertilizer label. Good luck with your trees!
