I live 3 blocks from the ocean. My backyard is protected by trees & buildings on all sides [I understand the fig is sensitive to wind]. Parts get full sun (12 hrs) some get 4-6 hrs sun. These locations are in the middle of the yard. It is not possible to place the tree against a wall [one reccommendation]. What's your advice? |
If you choose the sunniest site for your fig tree, it will grow quickly during the spring and summer and have an opportunity to ripen its fruit. If you plant it in only 4-6 hours of sunlight, in a cool location, your tree will leaf out but may never produce ripe fruit. |
