I have several Burning Bushes. I noted that something is eating the lower branches. They actually look as if someone took a pair of clippers to them but some have branches that are about 18

It does sound a bit peculiar, but I wouldn' put anything past a hungry bunny! If you have rabbits, you may also have deer. They tend to prune things by nipping the stems off or feed by stripping the leaves off an available stem. You can repair the damage by cutting the affected stems back to a leaf node. New stems and leaves should appear in a few short weeks.
