I have 4 Jacaranda trees in the side yard with 3 Purple leaf plum and red fountain grass planted in and around. Early this year I cut back the grass and noticed that the Jacaranda trees had stems1/2 inch to maybe 1 inch caming from the bottom/base of the trees, is this OK or should I cut them off or leave them alone? Thank you

What you describe sound like suckers coming from the roots of your Jacaranda trees. The suckers can be safely pruned away. Dig down into the soil and prune the suckers as close to their source as possible. Best wishes with your landscape!
