I recently moved into a new home and the grass sod was laid in the front yard as part of the home but the landscaper did not

Daniel,

You will need to keep the newly laid sod adequately moist, not totally saturated, by giving frequent (daily or twice daily) light waterings for a few weeks then back off slowly to twice weekly for another month or so and then once weekly.

Deep aeration and compost topdressings (1/3 inch deep) once a year will also be helpful.

Fertilize with a 3-1-2 or 4-1-2 ratio product applying 1 pound of nitrogen a month after sodding and again in mid summer and early October this first year.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
