I RECENTLY PURCHASED TWO MONROVIA PLANTS AND DID NOT REALIZE THE PLACE I PLANTED THEM DOES NOT GET SUN, MOSTLY SHADE. WHAT KIND OF AFFECT WILL IT HAVE ON THESE PLANTS IF I LEAVE THEM IN THAT SPOT? YOUR HELP IF APPRECIATED THANK YOU, JANET |
Unfortunately you did not mention which specific kind of plant these are. Many plants will tolerate a range of lighting conditions, but sun lovers generally prefer a full day of direct sun with a minimum of six hours including the hour of noon. Plants that are listed for full sun/part shade will do fine in a half day of sun, or possibly a few hours of direct afternoon sun. (Afternoon is stronger than morning sun.) A location in full direct sun all morning will also count as "full to partial sun". Without knowing exactly which plant I can't tell you exactly what will happen, but in too much shade most plants will grow long and spindly and thin and may not bloom as much as they should or may not bloom at all. Keep in mind it is better to transplant them right away than wait. I hope this answers your question. |
