| I planted celery seeds in early December but they didn't sprout. The weather has been mostly mild and damp, with a few sunny days (highs about 60 or so). We get very, very little frost so I thought I should be able to grow celery now. I understand it takes a long time to mature. Any tips? |
| Celery seeds need temperatures of 60 - 70 degrees to germinate. They are usually direct seeded into the garden in February in your area and take about 120 days to produce mature plants. It would probably be best for you to save the remainder of your celery seeds and plant them next February or March when the soil is warmer and dryer. |
