I am new to the area in Northern Michigan and am wonderins what I can plant the will grow in a sandy soil, under pine trees, and also on an embankment with rocks. I get a north west sun for the most of the day. Under the pine trees there is nothing but sandy soil. I also do not want to attract deer.

Thanks for your help

Tina

I suggest you contact your County Cooperative Extension office. They will have lists of recommended plants that do well in local growing conditions. They are at the Courthouse Annex, 517-275-5043.
