I bought a small purple-leafed peach tree at the nursery. It was the only one there and had no ticket. I would like to know if its hardy, planted in the ground in my growing zone: 7 (southern md) or if it needs to be taken in for the winter.

I think your tree is a purple leaf plum rather than a purple leaf peach (as far as I know there are no peach trees with purple leaves). If it is a purple leaf plum, it is hardy to USDA zone 6 and you can plant it outdoors in your growing region.
