The Q&A Archives: Princess lily

Question: I live in Nebraska. How deep should I plant the Princess Lily?

Answer: Alstroemeria, the Princess Lily, is a great annual plant for your garden, but it's tropical in nature and won't live over the winter months in your gardening region. Your best approach would be to leave the plant in the nursery pot and sink the pot down into the garden soil. At the end of the season, when the foliage turns yellow, dig up the pot and discard it, plant and all. Next year you can purchase a new Princess Lily and enjoy the flowers again.
