The Q&A Archives: Heat Tolerant Hedge

Question: I am from Harker Hgts. Tx.& I would like to offer the other central Texans interested in moderately fast growing heat tolerant hedges. I planted Red Tip Photinias 10 yrs. ago. With very little water after the first summer, never fertilized, no pruning & basically no care, they grew to 12' high. The only problem I encountered was an invasive dog that dug up all but one.The dog is gone, but my Red Tip is still going strong.

Answer: Happy to hear you've had such great success with Photinias! (Sorry about the dog.)
