I am from Harker Hgts. Tx.& I would like to offer the other central Texans interested in moderately fast growing heat tolerant hedges. I planted Red Tip Photinias 10 yrs. ago. With very little water after the first summer, never fertilized, no pruning & basically no care, they grew to 12' high. The only problem I encountered was an invasive dog that dug up all but one.The dog is gone, but my Red Tip is still going strong.

Happy to hear you've had such great success with Photinias! (Sorry about the dog.)
