Radicchio seed is available from Burpee, varieties "Red Verona" and "Red Surprise" are available. You can call Burpee at 1-800-888-1447 or re-visit the website. Radicchio grows best in cool or mild weather, i.e., fall, winter and spring in your region. In an area that will receive full sun, sow seed 1/4" deep in rows 4-6" apart. Fertile soil and ample water will provide the best results. Remember that successive plantings are the key to always having salad greens. Heads of radicchio should form without being cut back or forced. Complete growing instructions will accompany your seed packets.
