To help conserve water, homeowners can use an irrigation system controller that will allow either a 5-day cycle or day of the month scheduling by identifying and programing the day and date for sprinkler run times. The newest programable systems have what is known as a smart sprinkler controller. These systems can reduce outdoor water use by monitoring environmental conditions (such as rain, wind, temperature, soil moisture, slope and plant type) and using this information, automatically adjust the amount of water each time a property owner?s irrigation system operates. With smart sprinkler controllers, the right amount of water can be applied to maintain healthy plants in all weather conditions.
