Icee Blue Juniper is a low, spreading plant, growing only 4 inches high with a spread of about eight feet. Root depth for these types of junipers is generally within the top 6-8 inches of soil, radiating out only a few inches past the longest branches. A full grown (8' wide) plant will have a network of fibrous roots extending 8' from the main stem of the plant.
