Holly Fern: Problem is the leaves are turning yellow and brown. I have cut off all old leaves, for new growth to begin. It does have new growth with bright green leaves, then the bottom leaves start this yellow and brown color and die...is that normal or do I need to water them more frequently. Thank you for your time.

Cyrtomium falcatum, the holly fern, naturally produces new foliage at the center of the plant. It's normal for the older, lower leaves to die off. To keep your plant looking attractive, cut away the dead leaves. Holly fern needs to be watered as regularly as any other landscape shrub. Best wishes with your landscape!
