I have a question about your boxwood varieties. I just moved to Minneapolis, MN, which is zone 4 and am looking to create a row of hedges in the front of my house. Out of the three types of boxwood that are said to be evergreen and last through the winters in zone 4, which would be the best bet. I keep getting conflicting advice. If at all possible, I'd like to choose a variety that will withstand the wind and freeze, and ideally will not require being covered through the winter. That defeats the purpose of an evergreen. Thanks for your educated response.

Korean Littleleaf Boxwood (Buxus microphylla koreana) is recommended by the University of Minnesota as the best boxwood for your growing region. This shrub grows 3-5' tall and can be sheared into a formal shape or allowed to grow naturally.
