The Q&A Archives: Height measurements

Question: I've gotten 2 different answers and I'm hoping you can help me out. The height on the Dwarf Korean Lilac say 4-5 ft. The Sargent Crabapple says 6-8 ft. Is that height from the ground or the the start of the branches? Any info will help. Thanks

Answer: Height is measured from the ground up. So, the Dwarf Korean Lilac will be a total of 5' from the tip of the very top to the ground. Branches can start almost anywhere on the main trunk. The Crabapple will be a total of 8' from the ground to the top of the tree. Again, it doesn't matter where the branching starts, the overall height will be a maxium of 8'. Hope this clarifies things for you!
