I have an aucuba rozannie that gets small inconspicuous flowers, but no berries. A local nursery told me that Mr. Goldstrike is a good pollinator. I have not seen any flowers on Mr. Goldstrike and want to verify that it is a pollinator for other aucubas. Thank you. |
As indicated by the name, Mr Goldstrike is a male form of Aucuba. It should serve as pollen source for your female plants. The flowers are inconspicuous so you might not really notice them. Also, they appear closer to the branch tips so may have been pruned off in the process of shaping the plants. There is also a chance that the plants bloomed earlier, before they reached your area. I hope this helps. |
