Monrovia, we have a location with damp soil and full sun, Connecticut Zone 6. For privacy, we are planning River Birch, Winterberry, Bayberry, and Clethra. Which evergreens should we consider -- conifer, white pine, hemlock, etc.? Do any tolerate damp soil and full sun? Thanks for your help. Steve |
Most evergreens do not tolerate damp to wet soil. You might try Ilex glabra or inkberry holly. Left untrimmed it can reach a fairly good size, depending on cultivar. It looks a bit like boxwood although looser in habit. Good luck with your project! |
