| Would you please suggest a pretty tree to grow in an island, about 25 feet wide that likes full sun and will not hurt concrete? Japanese maples would be our first choice but they are not fond of full sun! |
| I'd recommend a hawthorn (either white or deep pink spring flowers, or an ornamental pear tree. Pyrus betulifolia has a pyramidal shape and will grow 15'-30' tall with arching branches. Both trees have well-behaved root systems and both have attractive shapes. Hope one of these is just right for your driveway island! |
