This is a large growing tree. As indicated in the Monrovia on line description: "Slow-growing to 30 to 45 feet high, 10 to 15 feet wide. Larger with age." Pruning it to keep it small while maintaining its essential character will be difficult if not impossible. I would strongly suggest you work with a professionally trained and certified arborist with experience in ornamental trees to see what can be done. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging.
