How can I eliminate ivy that is growing up my oak tree and the surrounding ground. I tried Round Up but it didn't do anything. I want to get rid of it entirely. Help! Thanks

Using herbicides beneath your oak tree isn't a good idea. Vegetation killers such as Round-Up can't distinguish between the roots of the ivy and the roots of your oak tree. You can cause some real problems with the oak roots! The best way to remove the ivy is to hand dig it, roots and all. Wish there were a better way!
