How can I keep them out of my flower planters. Is there something I can spray or put around my patio so they don't dig in my planters?

There are spray-on repellents sold at garden centers that may work. You can also try putting wire mesh over the soil surface or insert sticks upright in the soil to make it harder for them to dig. In my garden they usually stop once there is more food naturally available for them elsewhere. Good luck!
