The Q&A Archives: Care for Celosia Plumosa

Question: I recently bought and planted two Celosia Plumosa plants which are about 3 and 5 inches in length and placed them in a 4-inch and 6-inch pot respectively. I sat the pots on my east-facing balcony which gets sun from about 6a.m.-2p.m. Should I have used bigger pots?...Do they need more sun exposure? I have read that they can grow quite tall. Also, please give complete care instructions for these plants such as soil requirement(I used Miracle-Gro Potting Mix for Container Plants) Is this okay? Water requirements(some instructions say keep dry others say keep moist);fertilzer requirements, and light/sun exposure. I heard these plants can turn brown and fall apart. Please tell me how to avoid these problems.
