I have a 2' x 5' border that gets sunshine from noon on. Do you have any plant suggestions for a cutting garden with lots of color?

The possibilities are almost endless for perennial plants that provide flowers for cutting. Alstromeria has lots of lily-type blossoms, Columbine, African daisy, Aster, Campanula, Coreopsis, Delphinium, Penstemon and Oriental Poppies would all be happy in your border. Most of these plants grow 18-24 inches high so you can choose some annual plants in complimentary colors that are a little lower in height. Whatever you choose, be sure to cut the flowers in the morning to bring indoors. Their colors are more vibrant then, and the fragrance will be at its peak.
