The Q&A Archives: Rosemary on Porch

Question: Im a first time Herb grower ,can i plant some rosemary,in pot,in my back porch ? And How?

Answer: Darylyn,

Yes it will do well in a pot as it loves great drainage and can take a little dry conditions. However it needs lots of sun so the location must get plenty of sunlight and preferably plenty of direct sun for best results.

Choose a pot that is a gallon in size to start. If the plant you purchase is a 4" pot or similar size you can start with a 6" pot. Keep the soil moist but not soggy wet. As the plant grows you can move it to a larger pot.
