Mimosas are subject to a number of potential problems, notably a vascular wilt disease that can attack an otherwise healthy tree. Stress such as excess winter cold can also kill one back to the ground, but it will usually regrow quickly from the roots. They are also sometimes attacked by borers and other insects. If you have a mimosa that seems to be in trouble you might check with your county extension or a professionally trained and certified arborist to see if they can determine what is happening and whether or not the tree can be saved. |
